Single Post Fixed Leg Tilting Easel

Single Post Easels are used when both backward and forward tilt is required in a simple easel. These are studio easels that will take a relatively large canvas. High stability due to the fixed front legs. The back leg does fold for storage and transport. I call it a "Y" front easel because of the inverted Y shape.

Painting, one of mine, is 800mm X600mm or about A2.

Easel on left has tilting tray fitted this can also act as a bottom mount.

Note how low the bottom mount goes. This is a 2 metre tall easel.

I have made these in a big variety of woods sizes and with different mount designs. The mounts , like all my easels have 2 locking knobs, and slide from the top to the bottom of the centre shaft . The mounts provide full support for the boards and canvases. The top mount is wide and the face of the easel also provides support so that the mount supports and easel face are all in one plane. The rear leg folds and when you stand the easel against a wall you stand it vertical this minimizes storage space. You can nest several easels against each other. This is helpful when storing multiple easels in a studio.The unique leg design allows this. If you lean the easel against a wall it is likely to slide down.

Model YH1800 1.8 metres tall - $215 in Oiled Victorian Ash - only this model can be sent interstate due to size constraints on shipping.

Model YH2000 2 metres tall holds a 1.5 metre canvas made from oiled Victorian Mountain Ash $235. Tray to suit 600mm X 220 mm $115 oiled or tilt tray 600mmX220mm $150 You can also add a palette holder to a tray for $45 I do make these in other sizes and woods and the price will vary.

Wheels can be fitted for $25, so you can easily wheel the easel around. Click to see photos

Tilted back notice how the tray is horizontal. You can keep the tilt tray flat no matter what the angle of the easel is.

Tilted forward, the tilting tray is flat.
