Centre Slide easels allow the painting to be easily lifted on the easel. The entire centre section of shaft mounts and any work attached slides up and down. It is then locked at the desired height and the artist can always have their work at eye level. There is a large amount of travel and the bottom mount goes to the bottom frame of the easel. The sliding section can be locked top and bottom. The artist has to lift the weight of the sliding mechanism which is 2 to 5 kilos and the canvas, when using the slide. If this is a problem a Counterweighted easel should be chosen, as it features a counterweight so that the actual lift can be made with one finger.
The Centre Slide easel has all the features of a Standard H frame. They tilt forward 5 degrees and back 20 degrees. Solid construction that will not give trouble during a long, hard life. The fronts do not protrude so that you will not trip over them. Your feet fit under the bottom frame front cross bars if you can work that close. High sides provide full support where it counts. Deep trays available for all easels. Locking castors on the front and standard castors on the rear. The top mount slides all the way down the centre shaft to meet the bottom mount. You can paint a post card. The bottom mount is fixed to the centre shaft, and has 3 locations. It enables you to use the easel in rooms with relatively low ceilings. Folds flat for transport and storage.
It is available in two standard sizes, but this can be altered to suit a special order. Please note that the minimum ceiling height for a HS1600 is 2.7 metres or 9 foot and a HS2000 is 3 metres or 10 foot. If you so not have this height in the studio you will miss out on the advantages of raising and lowering the canvas.

Available in Premium red Hardwoods(HSK1600) - dark to mid red hardwood, Spotted Gum(HSSG1600) - brown tones, huge colour and grain variation. These premium hardwoods are very dense or heavy, in that they will not float on water and they are also highly impact resistant. You can also order Recycled Oregon, also known as Douglas Fir. I have reasonable stock of Oregon over 100 years old with great colour, nail holes etc. Wonderful when oiled. Please add $150 for any of these woods over the Vic Ash prices, plus an extra $45 for a tray and $5 for a palette holder.
Please note when you order a tray, the total weight you have to lift when adjusting is the tray, what is sitting on it plus canvas and centre shaft. If this is a cooncern you should order a counterweight easel.

Delivery HS2000
These easels are normally delivered partially assembled. I fully assemble them first, check all is OK then mark all the joints with a pencil outline, the joints all then get a number and letter as the easel is partially disassembled. The screws are in place with styrene over the points. Essentially you have to fit the cross pieces. .A HS2000 will be $160 to SA, NSW or ACT or $180 to Southern Queensland.
