A Frame model AB

A Frames are the workhorse easel, simple, strong and with minimal moving parts. They offer good support but always tilt back. All my A frames have a bolted high friction hinge that has no free play and gives great stability. Mounts are fully and infinitely adjustable with two turn to lock knobs using a strong vice grip.

All woods are Victorian Mountain Ash unless stated otherwise. The dimension in the model number is the height of the easel in millimetres.

ABHRL1800 Raw or sanded but not oiled $99, ABHL1800 oiled $125 - frame 42mmX19mm, optional tray can be fitted. Top mounts are an optional extra, see below. Red Premium Australian Hardwood ABKL1800 oiled-$150 Spotted Gum ABSGL1800 oiled -$135.

ABH1800 oiled and fine sanded $145 - no top mount- frame 65mmx19mm - $125 for the raw (sanded but not oiled) version.

AMH2100 same easel as ABH1800 but with an additional middle shaft, making useable easel height 2100mm $195 in oiled Victorian Ash with top mount and $220 in Red Hardwoods -AMK2100 or Spotted gum - AMSG2100

Oiled Hardwood Tray - $95. ----Raw Hardwood Tray - $85.---- Palette holders hardwood - $40 each. ----Top Mount $12 raw and $15 oiled ----Optional MDF oiled tray $70, MDF oiled palette holders $20 each.----- Optional Wedge Mounts are available on all A Frames for $20 extra in Vic Ash or $25 in other woods.

If you order unoiled easels you must plan on oiling them to protect the wood for longevity. Instructions will be provided.

You can order shorter, taller, heavier or lighter easels made to suit your requirements. I keep a range of these easels, in different woods, in stock.

Wheels can be fitted to all A frames for $15 per easel, enables you to easily wheel the easel around. click for photos

Please note: I can send fully assembled easels (Glued and screwed) to Melbourne Metro $10 extra, Sydney/Adelaide for $15 extra. Other areas are a very reasonable premium on the above prices. You are only paying for the extra cartage cost, which is based on volume shipped.

The 1800 in the model number refers to the height in Millimetres, as does the 2100 in the AM model. The bottom mount is 600mm wide 65mm deep, top mount 350mm wide 19 mm deep, with beveled under edge front and rear, to lock onto canvas. Top mount reverses to eliminate knob shadows. Knobs 27mm cube of Recycled River Red Gum with threaded metal insert. Trays 700 mm wide and 200 mm deep and incorporate bottom mount.
